Aitutaki Kitesurfing Competition

The organisers of June's inaugral Aitutaki Kitesurfing Competition chose Aitutaki as the best place to host the competition due to its flat waters, perfect winds and absolutely stunning landscape, aptly naming the competition "Kiting toward Heaven."
Two time world champion and number one Kitesurfer in the world, Jesse Richman took out the competition against Kiters from the Cook Islands and all around the world with three time World Champion Cindy Mosey heading the judging panel.

Oceania Sailing Competition

The Oceania single handed Youth Championships were competed on the 25-30 July 2011 on the pristine island of Aitutaki. Sailors from the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand congregated to compete for the Oceania title, with winners granted the opportunity to compete overseas.
This competition has shown the sailing community just what Aitutaki is capable of...hosting a great competition and being the most beautiful island in the Pacific - we think so anyway!
